The Starlight Subset is a group of cards that has some of my favorite art in the game. It broke my heart to do it but unfortunately, they won’t be coming into the game for a long time.
The reason is simple, even if the deck isn’t. In my opinion, the whole point of card effects is to subvert the ordinary rules of play. Your cards are only supposed to have 100 attack? Let’s double it. Cards can only attack once per turn? Swing again. Things like that.
With this deck though, they took a look at the base mechanics of the game and just overlooked them instead of subverting them. Normally you can summon three cards per turn with limits on where they can be placed, notably with only one card going in the Counter Zone per turn.
Well, these cards are supposed to be “shooting stars” so not only can you summon them directly from the hand, which no other cards currently do, not only can you summon as many of them as you want per turn, but they all go in the Counter Zone when they land, before being rearranged into different constellations.
Yeah, they raised the skill floor of the game just by existing, so I decided to delay their release.
